18th of January saw R2 of the AKA controlled tyre winter series, the venue was DRT which survived the overnight heavy rain very well. With the dedicated track crew it was soon sorted and the racers that bared the elements were treated to a very good track.

Some early delays with transponder loop problems were soon out the way and Rnd 1 was under way. In Buggys Bren Ralls and Mike Craddock would fight it out, with a small mistake from Bren would give the round to Mike, Jason Dixon would come home 3rd in Rnd with a clean run.
In Truggys Richard Baker and Richard Mandy holding the flag for XRAY had great runs for it to be only discounted through a computer problem, in the re run finished 2nd & 4th.
Rnd 2 saw Bren get a flyer taking the round with Jason going 4th. In truggys the two Richards did a 1st and 2nd in round.

Rnd 3 & jason would not improve on his score but his results would put him 4th on the grid for the main. Bren still learning his engine had some problems giving mike the round. In Truggys again the Richards would go 1st and 2nd in Rnd putting themselves 1st & 3rd on the grid for the main.
With the finals now under way for the Truggys Richard Baker would lead from flag to flag & not look back, a faultless final would give him a well deserved win. Richard Mandy done it the hard way being last after an unlucky 1st lap, after knuckling down would drive a great race to work his way through the field. By the first fuel stop was now in 2nd position & would not look back from here to give XRAY and the XT8 a 1st and 2nd on the podium. Well done guys.
For Buggys & a good clean start for all with Bren hot on the heels of 1st, an unlucky bounce on lap 3 would see Bren tangled in the catch fencing and out of contention with an engine cut. Jason Dixon and Adrian Eaton now holding the flag for XRAY would finish a very creditable 3rd & 4th so well done guys.
Bren would re join but many laps down to put in consecutive fastest laps of the race by sum margin and clawed his way to 6th.
